During a time of severe weather activity any FCARC Club member may activate the Fannin County Emergency Weather Net on the Bonham repeater (145.470) if you are unable to obtain approval from the Fannin County Amateur Radio Emergency Coordinator David F. Reeder, WA0URJ or Fannin County Government Emergency Coordinator Darryl Brewer, KE5JHN.
The Amateur Radio Station would try to contact WA0URJ or KE5JHN and ask if the Weather Net would be activated. If unable to contact WA0URJ or KE5JHN then the station would identify with their assigned call letters and state: "This is (call letters) activating the Emergency Weather Net for Fannin County. Any stations listening with pertinent Weather information should now call (call letters of initiating station)"
The initiating station would then take check ins like any other net operations and keep a log of stations checking into the net and supply information.
Please be advised to give sufficient break time between contacts for the National Weather Service in Ft. Worth, TX to access the repeater through IRLP link. In times of severe or threatening weather the National Weather Service in Ft. Worth, TX will access the Bonham repeater (145.470) for reports from Fannin County.
After the severe weather has passed through Fannin County the initiating station would then close the Emergency Weather Net and return the repeater to normal Amateur use.
If you activate the Emergency Weather Net please notify WA0URJ via e-mail of the date, time, and call letters of stations that checked into the net.
